The whole process of NC lathe machining is completed through the implementation of workpiece processing program flow. Therefore, the advantages and disadvantages of NC lathe machining program can directly endanger the final machining precision and machining efficiency of the workpiece. CNC lathe is a kind of relatively high complex processing machine and equipment. Before the preparation of workpiece processing program, its processing technology should be determined according to the formulation provisions and processing contents of its engineering drawings. Generally speaking, the following basic criteria should be followed to determine the machining process of CNC lathes:

、 The principle of rough machining first and then finish machining. Generally, in order to better ensure the final machining quality of the workpiece, the workpiece processing must be divided into two stages: rough machining and finish machining, and a semi finish machining link must be added to the workpiece with high machining precision. This criterion should also be followed in NC lathe processing. When machining rough parts, CNC lathe can quickly remove most of the processing capacity, minimize the feed frequency, and reduce the rough machining time. During finishing, the key is to ensure the accuracy and appearance quality of workpiece processing.

、 The principle of one-time clamping and accurate positioning, and the multi process machining of workpiece by one-time clamping are the basic machining characteristics of NC lathe machining. Therefore, when determining the workpiece processing technology, it should centralize each processing process to a greater extent. The clamping frequency shall be reduced as much as possible to reduce redundant accurate positioning deviation and repeated clamping process.

、 The processing principle of "inside first and then outside". When the workpiece to be processed has not only internal and external surfaces, but also external surfaces, it is necessary to carry out the processing of the internal and external surfaces of the workpiece before the external surfaces during lathe processing. If phased processing is carried out, it is also necessary to carry out the rough processing of the internal and external surfaces before the fine processing of the internal and external surfaces.

、 According to the machining principle of "first face then hole", NC lathe machining is a kind of Compound Machining NC lathe, which can not only carry out milling but also boring. When the workpiece to be machined not only has a plan view but also has holes, it should be carried out in the order of turning the plan view first and then milling, because the cutting speed is relatively large when turning the plan view, and the workpiece is prone to deformation. Turning the surface first and then milling, so that it can be recovered for a period of time. Milling after the deformation is restored, is beneficial to ensuring the machining precision of holes.
